The Journal of the History of El Puerto would like to emphasise the important and essential function carried out by the external evaluators during the edition process of scientific journals.
The manuscript evaluators (studies, documents and descriptive documents concerning bibliographic sources) presented to The Journal of the History of El Puerto are guaranteed they will remain anonymous.
Similarly, the external evaluators will only know the identity of the authors of the manuscripts they revise if these are published, although the evaluators themselves will remain anonymous.
Only the evaluating entities of scientific journals will have access to the identity of the evaluators, and only in order to confirm the compliance with the manuscript admission system through external supervisors.
Given its biannual character, The Journal of the History of El Puerto will public a list of its external evaluators every five years, in order to ensure they remain anonymous concerning the reviewed manuscripts.
The external evaluators agree to maintain correspondence with the authors who disagree with their opinions or require some form of explanation. In this case, correspondence will be maintained through the Editorial Board, in order to guarantee the anonymity of both parties.
The reports must be issued within a logical timeframe and must be compiled according to the nature of The Journal of the History of El Puerto, which allows for observations to be made by the external evaluators as required.
The external evaluators of The Journal of the History of El Puerto will receive an issue of The Journal of the History of El Puerto in which the manuscript they reviewed appears. If they require it, The Journal of the History of El Puerto will issue certificates of collaboration to the external collaborators without mentioned the manuscripts they have reviewed.
